On The Sean Hannity Show: Michele Bachmann: … all the surplus in Social Security is a big vault stuffed with IOU notes, there’s not one dime sitting in there. Weiner: Are you surprised to learn, Congresswoman Bachmann, that we don’t have a room filled with dimes? [via]

Attention Modest Mouse Loving Grooveshark Users!
Check out the band “Iron Horse” and their CD Pickin’ on Modest Mouse. It’s a CD with bluegrass covers of Modest Mouse songs and it’s awesome. The banjo lends itself really well to the music. You won’t regret it.

My First Real Concert
I just bought tickets to see The Books on Friday, April 8th in Austin. I can’t wait. I’ve only been to one other concert and I was 13 years old at the time. I was dragged along by my cousin, who was a huge fan of the Deftones. Needless to say, the experience soured me on the entire concept of live concerts until now. I change my views on concerts starting April 8th. Tickets are only...

When I see this, I wonder whether Bin Laden had a point.

He did have a point, too bad he attempted to drive it home with violence.

I Laid Someone Off Today
It was incredibly easy. They took it like a champ. Sure, they’ll be getting 6 months of severance, so that might make the pill a bit easier to swallow….but still.
Interestingly enough, in the second Employee Relations kerfuffle I had today we removed two people from their team because they were being harassed by their boss. So, being the proactive HR person that I am, and since their...

High School Jams
I just made a grooveshark playlist of the top 40 billboard hits from my high school years (‘00-‘04). I’m cleaning the house, doing laundry and suffering from an uncomfortable amount of nostalgia.
Ciara’s “Goodies” anyone? How about Petey Pablo’s “Freak-a-leek”?
No?
Fair enough.

Watching Vice Guide to Travel, the North Korea episode, right now in instant watch. It’s pretty awesome. It’s like 1984 come to life.
Also, this season of The Real World looks to be a good one. I wonder if the casting staff employs psychologists to ensure the cast is as volatile a mix as possible.
If not, that should be the secret guiding principle of another show.

Pain Relief PM
I took a 6 hour “nap” this afternoon and now I can’t go to sleep. I don’t want to see the sun rise so I took two Pain Relief PMs, which is Walgreen’s generic version of tylenol PM.
I’m looking forward to feeling it begin to take effect. That weird heavy feeling. I’ll be watching “The League” season one on Netflix until I fall asleep. Maybe on...

because I thought putting it on facebook would be tacky, and if I couldn’t put it on facebook and get social credit for it, why do it? I’m pathetic.
I didn’t put it on facebook, and I did donate, but I also decided I’d put it on here…I’m getting better.

How I Almost Died Today
I was driving into work at approximately 6 AM after having gone to sleep at 1 AM. I was tired, and more than that I didn’t want to come to work today. So already we’re starting off on the right foot.
Anyway, being someone who prides themselves on being prepared for almost any situation, I keep a bottle of eye drops in my coin tray for those moments when my eyes are irritated or red or...
